Understanding Slow Start
Modified on Mon, 20 Oct at 2:51 PM
The Slow Start option can be used to set a reduced pace for warmup emails on individual accounts.
When enabled, the calculated 'Current daily sending limit' for that account will grow by 75% daily until the configured Daily Sending Limit quantity is reached. This can help you build sender reputation faster.
For example, if you set your Daily Sending Limit to 20, the progression for that email account would look like this:
- Day 1: 1 email
- Day 2: 2 emails
- Day 3: 4 emails
- Day 4: 7 emails
- Day 5: 13 emails
- Day 6: 20 emails
In the case where you have multiple campaigns being sent through the same email account, the Slow Start limits are still imposed on an email-account basis regardless of how many campaigns are trying to send through them. Here's what happens.
- NuReply checks for available accounts
- Each campaign competes for available account capacity
- If an account is busy sending for another campaign, it's not available
- The daily quota gets distributed across all your active campaigns
For example, If one of your accounts has 20 emails/day capacity, and it's assigned to 3 campaigns, that 20-email quota gets split between whichever campaigns grab that account when it's available.
