Modified on Mon, 20 May, 2024 at 7:19 PM
If you are using Google Workspace (Gmail) accounts:
Step 1
Open your Gmail account on a browser.
Click settings icon on the top right (Gear icon)
Click "See all settings"
Click "Forwarding and POP/IMAP"
Scroll down to "IMAP Access" section and click on "Enable IMAP"
Click save changes
Step 2 (as of May 2024 Google has updated the process)
Direct instructions are located https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833?hl=en
- Go to your Google Account.
- Select Security.
- Under "How you sign in to Google," select 2-Step Verification.
- At the bottom of the page, select App passwords.
- Enter a name that helps you remember where you’ll use the app password.
- Select Generate.
- To enter the app password, follow the instructions on your screen. The app password is the 16-character code that generates on your device.
- Select Done.
If you’ve set up 2-Step Verification but can’t find the option to add an app password, it might be because:
- Your Google Account has 2-Step Verification set up only for security keys.
- You’re logged into a work, school, or another organization account.
- Your Google Account has Advanced Protection.
Step 3
When you are done and enabled 2 Factor Authentication, on Security tab, click on "2-Step Verification", scroll down and click "App Passwords."
Select "Email" for App and "Other" for device.
Give this app password a name (for example Nureply) so you can remember this later
Click "Generate" Copy the password on the screen without spaces
Step 4
Open Nureply’s "Accounts" tab and select "Gmail"
Enter your First Name, Last Name, email and password you just copied
Click "Test Connection" to see if it works
Click "Save"
